Wildlife Department fish hatcheries help produce the majority of fish stocked in Oklahoma public waters annually. The state’s four fish hatcheries – Holdenville, Durant, Byron and J.A. Manning near Lawton -- have been in use for many decades and are in need of some TLC, so they can continue to produce fish for future anglers to enjoy catching. ODWC provides fishing opportunities in all corners of the state, including eight designated Department trout areas, 45 “Close to Home” fishing areas and 16 Department owned lakes.
